Tomorrow is the big day where we’ll be adding a ton of new blog posts for you to get us all caught up.
However, I wanted to post a quick blurb about nausea when you’re pregnant, from a guys point of view…I’ve never been one to deal with sickness too well thanks to my weak stomach, so luckily Jane hasn’t thrown up once since she got pregnant. However, it’s hard to see her not feeling well.
Tonight she was laying on the couch before she went to bed and told me that it constantly feels like she has food in the back of her throat and her throat is burning.
I said it sounds like she has heartburn and maybe some Tums would help. She said that heartburn is yet another thing some women have to deal with when their pregnant.
Morning sickness… afternoon sickness… and evening sickness…
So let’s see…. so far there’s:
1. Out of control mood swings thanks to out-of-whack hormones…
She cried the other night during several commercials on TV. After the 3rd or 4th time, I was jokingly laughing. (A thing we guys do, but woman always take it the wrong way.) I wasn’t laughing AT her, just laughing I guess of the whole situation and how she was crying at a particular commercial. That didn’t go too well. I then saw the other side of the hormone flare.
2. Chocolate is a pregnant woman’s best friend…
Well, it is for Jane anyway. She went from always choosing salty foods over sweets to now being a fan of sweets. We’ve never had so much chocolate in the house. I don’t know what to do with myself. Of course I eat some when she offers it to me. And now most nights I’m jacked up on a sugar and caffeine until 2 or 3 AM while she sleeps soundly. (Yes, I had some tonight… oh no.)
3. Those rumors about running out to the store are… true. Sorry guys.
Sorry guys, but you will be making trips to the store, fast food places, and where ever else her cravings send you to. I’ve already made a few runs myself. I feel like a lost puppy in the grocery store. I don’t know where anything is. I just found out that milk is about $5.00 per gallon and I freaked out. When did it get that high? No wonder our grocery bills are crazy… especially now with a pregnant wife.
And many, many more… Oh I’ve got lots to share here.
Now how can I get rid of this sugar high so I can get some sleep tonight!!??
