It’s a boy! I’m so excited! You know, as crazy as this may sound, I’m the last of my kind. I’m an endangered species of sorts. I’m the last male in my family that carries my last name that has any shot of fertilizing any eggs.
I do have one cousin who is around 35 or so, but if you’ve ever seen the movie Napoleon Dynamite and remember his brother… that’s my cousin. Not literally, but my cousin looks and acts like him. Don’t get me wrong, I love the guy, but I just don’t see him freeing his boys any time soon. Or ever.
I knew it was up to me to pass the torch. I’ve had a lot of talks with my boys and told them that they should really consider making a boy if they want a chance for their DNA to continue on. They listened – and thankfully my DNA will continue living on and my boy will then have the pressure to keep the ball rolling.
That is of course we don’t have another boy or two or three or ten. Jane wants to have a girl a couple of years or so after Tarzan Junior is born. We’ll see what I can do. If that mission brings about another bouncing baby Tarzan, I guess we’ll try again, and again, and again, and… oh boy.
My boy. My very own little buddy. How cool is that!? I’ve already started thinking about all the cool things we can do together – most of which are cool things my father did with me. Yeah, I had a cool Dad growing up. :)
However, there is ONE tiny little problem.
If Tarzan Junior is ANYTHING like how I was growing up – especially during the teenage years, Jane and I are in for a treat. Jane would have no idea what to do. But thankfully, since I was a little terror growing up and was ALWAYS in trouble at school, I know how t deal with it. I’ll know what to do and say to set Tarzan Junior on the right path.
We’ll be talking a LOT more about this as time goes on.
It’s funny… after finally getting out of my “bad” phase and talking to my parents, they said it all wasn’t that bad. I was in trouble a lot, but it was always for little things. Overall, I was a “good boy”. And then I remember the fact that I never of course told them about the REALLY bad things I did and never got caught doing! LOL
Ahhhh… Pregnant Jane. We’re having a little boy. That’s so cool. I’m so excited. And I don’t want you to get all worked up or freaked out thinking about raising Tarzan Junior if he has that bad streak for awhile in him like I did. Don’t you worry, I’ve got that covered. More on this soon…
Next up…. The contest and pregnant brain!
The contest… We’re launching tomorrow at 10 AM CST. This is going to be MUCH larger than we thought. The amount of time we’ve put into this is about 30 times more than we thought. But, it’ll all be worth it because we decided to give away the 31 prizes to 31 different winners! And we have nearly $1,600 in prizes to give away! So be here tomorrow at 10 AM CST. Get ready!
Pregnant brain… WOW. All I can say is WOW. WOW. Jane is REALLY losing it lately. It’s getting bad. Really bad over the last couple of days. Forgetful? Wow. Can’t talk right sometimes? Wow. It’s getting crazy and often times she is so hilarious with little pregnant brain forgetfulness. I’ll be writing a new post about this soon. Things are getting CRAZY around here. She’s forgetting everything!
P.S… Check out the cost of having a baby page I just updated. EEKS!

LOL Well, I see you have a small grip on what it will be like having a little you…unfortunately the old 10 fold tale is true. Take your mischevious ways and multiply them by ten….that my dear will be your son. But he’ll also be 10 times the great things.
Uhhhh… Cat… If our son is 10 times as bad, I cannot even imagine that.
I think it would be best if we home school Tarzan Junior in that case…
The first time I was kicked out of class was kindergarden.
My first detention was first grade (followed by a good 30-40 more).
First time I was suspended from school was the third grade.
Second time I was suspended was the fourth, then fifth, then sixth, and on and on.
I broke the record for the most in-school and out of school suspensions and detentions in a high school that had been around since the 40’s… by more than double.
I was expelled from high school my junior year. Nearly failed high school because of that – was at the bottom of my class.
Because of my horrible grades, I never went to college.
During high school, I was a rebel without a cause. Everything from drugs, to fights, breaking windows and doors at school, throwing things at teachers, and on and on. Yeah, I was basically the devil. Jane knows my story, which is why she said last night, ‘if he’s anything like you, I wouldn’t have a clue on what to do!’
Good thing is that about one year after high school I snapped out of everything one day. Literally, just one day I said enough is enough, ditched all my druggie friends, cleaned myself up, and never spoke to any of them again. It was one of those ‘defining moments’ you often read about. I had one of those.
Anyway… I know what finally snapped me out of it. It was the missing piece that I finally figured out on my own that no family member or teacher could ever figure out for me. And that missing piece is what I’ll be giving to Tarzan Junior if I ever see him start to go to the dark side.
Another thing is we already know that Tarzan Junior will have A.D.D. BIG TIME. Both Jane and I have A.D.D. That means Tarzan Junior will have A.D.D. even worse that us most likely. But… I know how to deal with that too
I has serious placenta brain drain with both of my kids. I once burst into tears at the dry cleaners, pregnant with my second child, 4 year old in hand, because I could not remember my own phone number.
Congratulations on the news on finding out you’re having a son!!!
Love your blog! I see you found us on Twitter.
What a great idea… My biological clock started up again… for grand-children! Yes, that does happen. Unfortunately, neither of my kids can hear my ticking time bomb. Rats! So, I will have to live vicariously through your blog. Hopefully, this will satisfy my kid-craving. Our site should be fully launched in a week. I’m very new at this so wish me luck. Anyway, best to you and Tarzan and congrats on such an entertaining web site.
@Mama Kelly… That would be something Jane would do. She cried so much over something today I nearly had to change my shirt after giving her a long hug!
@Linda… Jane is finding all sorts of great people on Twitter – glad she found you! That’s an interesting twist, with your biological clock ticking for grandchildren! Good luck with your site – but even more luck on the grandchildren. Maybe you should make some jello shots for your kids – that seemed to do the trick for us!
ha ha
LOL Pregnant brain was my favorite excuse for being slow with things. Or clumsy. LOL
Wow, Tarzan. Your parents must have been 2 strong people to deal with all that. I’m going through ‘teen stuff’ with my 2 now, and I must say it gives me great hope to see that you seem to have turned out to be a very sensible adult after all that chaos. I’m sure your parents are very relieved:-)
Would love to know sometime what that trigger was that snapped you out of your negative patterns…maybe a post for another day…?
hey- what happened to the option of having 5 minutes to edit after posting? and showing my most recent blog post under my comment? (I liked that, so I got hubby to add it to my blog too:-)
Hey Helen!
Yeah, those teen years an be rough – that’s for sure! As far as that trigger, that’ll be a great post for me to talk about sometime soon in a future blog post.
As far as the comment luv, we had to make a few changes to the blog for the contest to get the contest page to load faster. And in doing so, we found many things wrong with the coding in our blog/template. Well, let me change that. There was a LOT wrong. Be careful what plug-ins you add to your blog. Ours was messed up pretty bad. So many wordpress plugins were conflicting with each other. Not sure if it was all because of Comment Luv, but it did mess some things up – be careful with that one.
And not to worry, you will be seeing some VERY big changes here within the next one to two weeks – things much better than what we had before. Let’s just say that we’ll be changing some things around and adding a few things.
In other words, we’re having a complete makeover. More about that soon!
Congrats! I have two boys. They’re a blast.
