For some time now I’ve realized that pregnancy is making my feet grow. I don’t particularly like this symptom of pregnancy because I have over 100 pairs of shoes in my closet and some of my favorite ones are getting too tight to wear. Please, please, please tell me that my feet will shrink back to their pre-pregnancy size after having this baby.
Please.
I went from a 7.5 to an 8.5 currently. Thank God my feet didn’t start out huge (no offense to anyone with big feet!). As long as my feet go back, I’m not bothered too terribly by this growth spurt. Plus, I get to buy more shoes to house my larger feet in!
Because I am a procrastinator, I should have known to be on top of the shoes that I ordered back in November for the wedding I’m in soon. But, that would have been too easy. I first ordered my normal 7.5, but had to quickly return them (ordered them online) because they were too small and I ordered an 8. The 8′s fit perfectly… at the time.
I tried on the shoes today, along with my bridesmaid dress (thank God that this fits), and guess what?
The shoes do not fit.
They are tight and completely uncomfortable. Tight like I walk funny when wearing them because my feet are screaming to be taken out of them.
Nice.
I figured, “No problem, I’ll just call Nine West and see what store has them available in the store and get an 8.5.” Seemed like a good plan to me. Well, apparently the shoes were part of the fall collection, which means that being almost the end of March, there are none to be found. In Houston and in all of Texas. That’s right, our huge state has none of these shoes left anywhere.
Oops.
The bride is one of my best friends so I called her to tell her, not to worry her, but just in a humorous “I’m such a moron, look what I did” kind of way. She told me that I could just wear any pair of gold shoes then, which is so completely awesome because the shoes she picked are horrid. But I don’t want to be THAT girl, so I told her that I would make them work, no worries.
So here’s where the help part from you comes into play… I need to stretch the hell outta these awful shoes (they are strappy leather heels), but have no idea how to do so. Yes, I know that I could simply do a search on Google, but I need some methods that are tried and true; ones that will work. I am running out of time!
Can you help a girl out??

I started out as a size 8. When I got pregant and has complications, my feet swelled and I needed to purchase size 9. After I had the baby, okay, many years later, if you check the label on my shoes, you will see that I am still wearing that same 9. We just celebrated our son's 6th birthday the end of July.
I was reading an article and it said that there is a chemical that is the culprit, that is used to make things down below and inside more flexible I suppose you could say, to accomidate the baby's birth canal trip. Well, those same chemicals with those same properties also affect your feet and cause them to grow as well. I am not sure how that works with woman who have multiple children. Do their feet just keep growing three or four sizes after that many kids? Do some research. I don't remember the name of the chemical. I think it started with a c. Dunno though.
I am only on my second child and my size 9's are starting to get a teensy bit tight. Oh Lordy. I wasn't really enthrowed with going up to a size 10 and certainly not for the long haul should that stay permanent. But what ever in the end. I am a three pairs of shoes maximum owner any how. Bring it on!
Blessings!
