This actually happened to me on mothers day on my way home from my mom's house. A simple 3 hour drive turned in 7 hours and after driving at about 10 mph on the interstate with my hazards I just pulled over like everyone else did. It was horrible and I had my almost two year old in the car with my the whole time! Worst day ever, I'm glad you're okay!

That's scary!

I'm in my 25th week of pregnancy and have my best friend's wedding on May 16th, so I can really relate with your bachlorette/rehearsal/wedding feelings... Luckily my friend is not having bridesmaids (as 2 would-be maids will be in their 8th month of pregnancy by then).

But it seems like you're doing great with your pregnancy! Keep it up!

So sorry to hear you had to drive in the Houston weather. I was luckily home when the hail hit and it was scary. I hate driving in the rain, esp here in Houston, cuz one minute it's sprinkling, the next it's so hard you can't see a thing. I have cried many a time driving on the freeways here. I drove through some nasty hail in College Station several times, and it is an experience I will never forget. Glad you are safe and be careful on those roads.

Don't worry about being late for your friend's rehearsal because people are more ready and willing to give in to a pregnant mom's explanation compared to someone who is not pregnant. That's why also, if a pregnant woman jumps queue, people won't get too angry about it because a pregnant woman's urgency is understandable.

I lived in College Station for a year and half so Houston was the place to go when you needed ANYTHING (like maternity clothes, they finally opened a store in CS right after I had my baby). I have never seen storms like I saw there. Totally crazy rain, things were flooded every other week! Plus the ice storm (a little over 2 years ago), the ice was 2 inches thick! I'm glad you made it okay, hail is dangerous. Did your car escape unscathed?

I'd be terrified too! Wow, at least you made it to your destination safely. I remember going home on Christmas Eve to visit my parents. I was TERRIFIED but the weather was great until I got halfway there and couldn't see anything through the snow, and the roads were a sheet of ice and people were FLYING by me like maniacs! Thankfully my hormones didn't stir up that bad during pregnancy.
