I was talking to one of my good friends this afternoon about my baby shower. She is hosting my shower with another friend of ours and she told me that I needed to let her know where I was planning on registering for the invitation.
When I told her that I hadn’t registered yet, she asked why. She said that she thought it would be really fun, like registering for your wedding, which I reminded her that I procrastinated until the very end too.
I also reminded her that I’m not very domestic. Seriously. I’m not the kind of girl that gets excited about pots, pans, and can openers. And it doesn’t look like I’m the kind of girl that gets excited about diapers, bedding, and bottle warmers either.
After laughing at that, she told me that I’m Miranda. You know, from Sex and the City. I laughed it off and told her no way, because really, who wants to be Miranda?
I like to think of myself as a mix between Carrie and Charlotte, with the exception of being pregnant I suppose. And being pregnant was the Miranda that she was talking about.
I guess she is right about that. I am kind of like Miranda when she was pregnant. I always kind of thought that I’d be the girl that would be cooing over baby stuff, but I’m not. In fact, we still don’t have anything for the nursery. Actually we only have 2 Gap onesies for our little boy. Nothing else.
But, I’m totally okay with that. I know that we’ll have all that we need by the time that our little boy arrives, so until then I’m totally fine with being Miranda.

Don't rush yourself if you're not ready. Heck, some babies even sleep in boxes after they're born! There's not a whole lot they NEED right after they're born. Just you, some diapers and your milk or formula.
That said, I'm feeling the pressure of registering too. I spent hours yesterday researching everything so we're prepared when we go in to do it on Sunday. I'm not big into registering, but a lot of people have already asked where we're registered. My shower's about 6 weeks away and I know a lot of people don't like to save buying the gift till the last minute.
