I am 26 weeks today, and i was just in the emerge last wednesday with very sharp pains in my lower abdomin and pelvic area. It hurts me to walk, stAND UP and lay down. the only time i feel comfort is in the bath, does anyone else feel like this? i know when i went to emerge i was told i have a bladder infection and am now on antibiotics. but now the pain has gotten worse since the antibiotics ? they also gave me two shots of steroids just incase i go into preterm labour? i feel like no one is being helpful that i know of and maybe one of yous that read this can help me. its like never ending pain? plus this might be TMI but anyone else getting lots of discharge when walking or standing ?? there is so many things im nervous about and want some help with thanks!

You are in our prayers from Schenectady, NY.

My wife and I are pregnant with our first child and she is experiencing some similar uncomfortable feelings. I'm going to go get that belt, so thank you Amy. I also didn't know the drug store sold test strips for UTI's and I'll be picking those up too.

Congrats on your blessing Jane.

You got it! Sending thoughts and prayers your way. It is so normal to feel the anxiety you are feeling. It's amazing how quickly we become attached to those little ones in our bellies.

I have the same problem and if I'm going to be up and around and walking I wear a maternity belt and it helps SO much with the pressure. Babies R Us carries one by Medela but it was kind of big and bulky so I also tried the Prenatal Mini Cradle and I love it.

So if it's not a UTI then that will probably help relieve the pressure you are feeling. A lot of women feel pressure like that, just read the reviews on the maternity belts and you'll feel better. I'm sure everything is fine, it's perfectly normal.

Good Luck!

I posted this on twitter too, but don't know if you are checking. Most drugstores have strips you can use to determine if you have a UTI. It might relieve you mind some if you could test before Monday. I used them last summer when I had symptoms and they worked for me. I wasn't pregnant then so I was able to take a pain reliever before I could get into the doctor.

I had multiple UTIs while pregnant with Adia. The only one I knew I had was the first one. It was textbook. The last 2, I was clueless and one of them caused preterm labor. Drink lots of water, rest as much as you can and if you start to feel "weird" call your doctor again. I had felt "weird" all day with Adia. My lower back felt kinda funny and then the pain radiated around to the front.. lo and behold, I was in labor at 29 weeks! You can never be too safe.

Lots of prayers and good wishes headed your way. I know there is nothing scarier than those moments when you aren't sure if things are ok. My thoughts will be with you.
