Just a thought on the chair... I got an awesome chair from freecycle.org... Post your pleas there for a chair and maybe somebody has one they want to part with! Even if you don't find your "dream chair" maybe you could find one that will suffice for a while at the price of FREE. Its a great site, you can find TONS of stuff on it for free.

Also, just athought... The things people don't buy you on your registry, you can look at garage sales for. Especially clothes: You can get some great clothes for a quarter a piece in the big sizes... Chances are that people will give you the smaller sized clothing, but look ahead for the bigger sizes as they grow faster than you think!

Yeah, those damn gliders are WAY OVERPRICED! We would like to get one too, but we are looking on craigslist and anywhere else we can find a cheap one. We are going to try and sell a few of our own things to get one. I know I won't be in one long, but to have a nice chair to sit in while feeding or just relaxing with baby would be nice. WalMart has some cheaper ones. I hear the cushion isn't that nice and kinda hard, but maybe with a little bit of elbow grease and more stuffing or some old memory foam, one could make a nice cushion. Hope you find a good one out there! My husband is still waiting to feel the kicks, just not far along enough to feel them through my tummy. He's getting frustrated. Good luck to y'all!

Put the chair on your register, sometimes friends will get together and buy a big gift (I am hoping this is what happens for me)-beleive it or not I haven't registered for a thing my hubby and the girls planning my shower picked everything, as Moms they seem to know better what I'll need I don't have a clue. Our nursery isn't done yet, I am hoping to post some preview pics next week. Your patience is amazing keep it up I am sure Jane really appreciates it. Everyone keeps telling hubby not to stress so much-including me-he's more worried than I am. It will all come together even the $$ part -that's my fear but we still have to live and function before the baby is born-after all once he arrives our lives will never be the same. We are still trying to celebrate the last few days like it is still just the two of us (we have been married 11 yrs) yet we are both very excited about how everything is going to change.

I too remember not having the money to buy a rocker/glider 9 years ago. We went with my parents to Value City Furniture. Not to shop but just following them and found a glider around $200. It wasn't fancy but did the job. It was made by Best Chairs, which was great for us since it was a locally owned manufacturing company we got to support. We even have bought two recliners since and love them. Now 9 years later and on our 3rd child, we still have that glider and plan to use it. Best $200 we ever spent.

I'm 23 weeks pregnant, and I really wanted a glider with an ottoman. But, I also didn't want to spend $200+ on it. Last weekend I saw that there were a ton of community yardsales near our house. One ad on Craigslist mentioned a glider. We went and picked it up for $25! It's in great shape, and so comfy. Check out craigslist and some yard sales.

Check out freecycle for your area for the glider and ottoman. I don't really care if things match, and when someone was offering a free Dutailier ottoman, I made my husband go get it that very day! Freecycle is a great way to get stuff and keep it out of the landfill. I also just cobbled together a metal bedframe, queen-size mattress and boxspring, and memory foam topper ALL FOR FREE from freecycle and it's all so magically comfortable. Check out Freecycle!!!!
