My baby shower will be when I’m about 32 weeks pregnant. I cannot wait!
I know that I still have some weeks before it takes place since I’m only 29 weeks pregnant, but I’ve been hearing a reoccurring comment lately that caused me to look at my baby registry just now.
Many people have told me how excited they are for my baby shower (I’m pleasantly surprised by this) and they’ve also told me how strange they all think it is that people don’t usually buy from the baby registry. I’ve probably heard this no less than 5 times from people I know in real life, and then there’s all my “friends” on Twitter and on my blog that have said the same thing.
Hmm.
I know that the norm for a bridal shower is to buy off the registry and I don’t know why a baby shower would be different. I’ve always bought off the registry, but maybe that’s just me.
Anyways, this post isn’t about that really…
I just looked at one of the stores that I registered from and was really excited to see that the stroller/car seat we registered for has been bought! Yay!! In total there were 4 items off the list that had been purchased so that put a nice smile on my face. Maybe we didn’t register for no reason at all!
I can see how people stalk their baby registry because I got so excited to see that certain things were purchased. Is that weird? I don’t remember doing that with my wedding registry, but then again, how excited could I possibly get about china or a can opener? Ha, ha.

I don't know but I think it's tacky...people buy what they want and you can always go and exchange..I think it's rude to ask for big item stuff, it seems to me it puts pressure on something that is supposed to be fun and simple. Maybe things have just changed that much from when I had my kids (last one 15 yrs ago) I was always thankful for whatever I got.
When did showers go so high tech?? To me, it's just another example of people feeling entitled to things when you could easily buy for yourself (and for you out there saying you can't afford it or it's expensive to do that....Um , welcome to having kids....they ARE expensive!!!!)
