32 weeks pregnant: OB pregnancy appointment

by Jane on June 3, 2009 · 11 comments

My 32 week pregnancy appointment went well today!Weight:  Didn’t really pay attention.  I think it was up 1 lb.

Blood Pressure:  99/66

Baby’s Heartbeat: In the 150s

Baby’s Position:  My doctor thinks that he has turned head down, which is a sigh of relief (as long as he is down and he stays that way).

Problem with baby’s position:  None, as long as he stays in this position until he is ready to come out.  It’s nice if he does because I would prefer to have a vaginal birth without having to be induced.  When he is ready to make an appearance, I will be ready.  I don’t like the idea of “forcing” him to come out when he isn’t ready.  Of course, I’ll do whatever option is best for myself and the baby and I’ll do it with a smile on my face.

Baby’s Momma:  Starting to feel more tired throughout the day, but still finding energy to finish his nursery soon.  I’m sleeping through the night, minus having to wake up no less than two times to go to the bathroom.

I notice that I get out of breath doing hardly nothing, which makes me laugh.  And feel so out of shape.

I am so happy that I have no stretch marks to report (and I’m knocking on wood that my stomach, hips, thighs, butt, and boobs stay without them!).

Next appointment:  June 17th

Questions I asked:  Not a one.  I think it’s the first appointment ever that I haven’t had a question.  Short and painless!

Big milestones this week:  Painted the nursery.  Set up the crib and dresser.  Painted the wall letters and hung them on the wall last night.  It’s been a big week in terms of putting together the nursery!  I also ordered the crib mattress, valance, and the musical mobile for his crib.

I got through my pregnancy with barely a stretchmark, I was very happy!

I didn't have a single stretchmark on my belly until my son dropped at like 32-34 weeks. Then a few tiny ones showed up...and everyday got worse until I delivered, and like Ashley posted, they got WAY worse and more showed up AFTER I delivered. Thankfully there aren't many, and they're fading pretty quickly...Good luck, I hope you don't get them, they really are unsightly.

I hate to burst any stretch-mark free bubbles out there....but I've seen quite a few women (including my best friend) without them while they're pregnant and then once the delivery occurs, they show up...kinda like being pregnant has the stretch marks all stretched out to where you can't notice them, and then when you deliver, there is extra skin that lets the stretch marks show themselves...so, don't think you're home free until AFTER you deliver...else, you might be disappointed! Like I said, sorry, just tying to prepare you! I'm at 34 weeks without any stretch marks, but I'm convinced the above will happen to me!

Cheers to not having any stretchmarks!! =)

Also, look at all you've gotten done. I'm two weeks ahead of you, and you know what I've done? Nothing.

I had stretch mark before I got pregnant, I was big in high school and then lost alot of weight and have been that way for 20 years but never lost all the stretch marks, mainly on the sides of my hips. I am back up to that weight now being preganant. 134lbs. I am sleeping through the night too although last night got a cramp in my calf that was soo painful. I am jealous our nursery isn't done yet but hubby seems to have the nesting instinct and has been cleaning and cooking all week so I am sure it will get done this weekend. 34 weeks and counting.

MVP - Good eye and thanks for catching that mistake. I changed it from July to June. It's in 2 weeks. Thanks again!!

Peta - Thanks! My mom didn't get any stretch marks while she was pregnant, so maybe I'm just blessed with good genes. I have read that creams don't really help a person to not get stretch marks, but it definitely does help with any itching. Just think of your 8 stretch marks as battle scars. LOL

No stretch marks Wow,

I am covered in them, just on my tummy none on my butt legs or boobs but i have at least 8 stretch marks that seem to get bigger by day, but it runs in the family no creams are helping lol

glad ur appointment went well :)

Wow, your next appt. isn't for another 6 wks?! I'm at every two wks now. Did you perhaps mean to say June instead of July?

Hi Bessie!! Hope you are doing well!

I'm thankful that our bedroom is on the bottom story bc I couldn't handle walking up everyday. Isn't that lame, I don't even go upstairs regularly. LOL.

Yes, we decided on a room upstairs, but not the one that we were thinking about originally. The room I picked is actually a lot smaller (I like to think "cozy") than the other, but I like the slanted ceiling. I think it'll be perfect when we get it all finished!

Hi Jackie - I like to think it's my good genetics, but it very well might be the cream bc I do put it on religiously. And yes, it's the cream that I blogged about a while back. Bummer about your 3 lines, but at least they are on your butt and not your stomach, right? :)

what have you been using for your strechmarks (or lack there of)? are you using that product you tried a few weeks back? im using bio-oil. i didnt think to put any on my butt, and lo and behold theres 3 big dark ones there now... sigh.

Glad you're doing so well! Look at all you've gotten accomplished - wow!

I completely remember that breathless feeling. So well. My husband and I were talking about how I'd crawl up the stairs at night toward the end because I'd get so out of breath. LOL!

Can't wait to see more pics of your nursery! Did you decide to go with the upstairs room? I don't recall what you decided...
