38 weeks pregnant belly

Pregnancy week by week 38

Jane is 38 weeks pregnant.  And yes… OK, OK, OK, so I got a little behind adding Jane’s pregnant belly pictures on our pregnancy week by week page.  But the good news is that I added the pregnancy weeks 36, 37, and 38 pictures to the page linked above.  Doing so made made me realize how CLOSE we are to the end of this journey.  Sure, it’s hit me many times over the last few weeks – but lately, it’s been hitting me BIG TIME.

I just spent a few minutes looking at all of Jane’s pregnancy week by week pictures – minus week 22, darn it!  And I couldn’t help remember when many of these photos were taken.  As I mention on the page, many of the photos were taken when Jane’s hormones were swinging in high gear.

Believe me, there were many days taking a picture was the last thing we wanted to do – sometimes no words were exchanged after an intense battle with the pregnancy hormone queen.  And sometimes taking the pregnancy week by week photos created some memories I’ll cherish forever.

For some reason while looking at Jane’s pregnancy week by week photos, a blog post that I wrote awhile back popped into my mind.  If you haven’t read it, check out my “father’s letter to unborn baby” attempt here: A note to my child.

It was fun reading that again… my own writing gave me tears in my eyes I’ll admit!  LOL

Another post I found was a post Jane and I created listing our favorite blog posts to that point, found at: favorite His Boys Can Swim Pregnancy blog posts.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy looking at Jane’s pregnancy week by week photos we’ve taken… we’re coming to an end of that chapter.  I’m going to miss taking those pictures.

But on the other hand, I’ll be taking thousands of pictures of Baby Tarzan, so that’ll more than make up for it. :)

Oh, I had mentioned that we will be running a contest soon.  It’s actually going to be a series of give-aways.  We’ll of course find ways to make it fun – and there are some cool products and gifts we’ll be giving away.

We’ll a little behind on getting some reviews out – which we will be working on over the next couple of days – and the give-away will be launching soon after.  :)

P.S…. Jane and I are ALL PACKED!  I think we have everything ready to go.  Once “it’s time” it’ll only take us about 4-5 minutes to throw last minute stuff in the bags that we’ll be using daily until the BIG DAY.  I’m getting REALLY excited!

Oh, Jane! I forgot to tell you that today is my youngest son’s birthday–he’s 24. He weighed a whopping 10 lbs and 9 oz when he was born…21 hours of labor(and he was child # 3! Just a little something for you to ponder on. LOL Best wishes always!

Beautiful pictures, beautiful belly. You are a very beautiful couple.
Everything is going to be perfect for both, I means, for three of you. LOL!

Wow Jane, you should be a pregnancy model (in the two weeks you have left lol)! I wish by the time I was 38 weeks that my belly looked that fantastic. I was more roadmap-ish and way more ginormous, not to mention swollen to high heaven thanks to toxemia! You’re sooo close… I had my boy at 38 weeks 3 days :) Good luck you guys!

I wish I’d found your blog sooner. Now I have 9 months reading to catch up. I love the concept of your blog and can’t wait to read updates on what is happening…

I had my Megan at 35½ weeks and she spent 2 weeks in NICU which was heart-breaking leaving the hospital with an empty car-seat and having to travel back and forward everday a few times a day to visit and feed her. I was so glad when I could finally bring her home and settle into a routine.

Kaylin was born at 37 weeks and weighed only 2kg, medically she wasn’t prem but she was so teeny weeny – like a little doll. I only stayed in hospital for two days and we had her home. What a difference to be able to leave the hospital with your baby in your arms…

Good luck to both of you. I hope to continue the journey with your and your bundle of joy…

Thanks for the comments everyone! With each passing day, I’m getting more and more anxious – especially reading the comments here and on other posts that many of you had your babies around this time – or before!

It’s an exciting time – and nerve-raking for me. Jane is very calm about everything, I feel nervous because of the anticipation that continues to build up day after day. Baby Tarzan can arrive at any time… we of course will keep you update on the play-by-play as things happen.

Be sure to follow Jane on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/hisboyscanswim – Jane will post tweets as things are happening… I can only imagine the tweets she’ll write as we drive to the hospital while she’s in labor! :)

Thanks for the sweet compliments everyone and welcome Gilz!

Oh Tori, you are so sweet! Funny that you mention my belly bc while I was out today so many people kept saying “how many more months do you have to go” and I kept telling them that I only have a little over a week until my due date. Everyone was so surprised. It’s so funny bc I feel HUGE, but I guess I’m not too big.
