Started using it a few weeks into baby number two land and it is amazing. Kinda forgot about it before that, but after realizing that doing the Harvey Karp happiest baby on the block shushing for ten minutes straight makes you hyperventilate and want to pass out, we quickly remembered this wonderful device :) It IS great. Oh yes, my MIL gave that to us before we delivered. Started using it a few weeks into baby number two land and it is amazing. I was at my wits end... Then a brilliant person gave me one of those amazing sheep!!! O my. It's been 8 months since then and my daughter still sleeps with that sheep. When we're changing Monkey sometimes he gets a little upset, moves around a lot, and awhile ago before we figured out a new secret, would sometimes cry. What is the secret? A blue octopus that plays this music that sounds like circus music! We play it over and over when changing Monkey and he doesn't cry AT ALL! The idea came to me when we were giving him a sponge bath the other day and was not a happy camper. I went into his room, grabbed this blue octopus (that has colors on his legs that you can press and a woman's voice will say the color) and put it next to him. Instantly the music calmed him - or distracted him - not sure what it does yet. But how funny, our Monkey likes circus music! I had found that our oldest liked the sound of running water too. I spent many nights in the bathroom with him running the faucet and/or shower to soothe him to sleep. Then I found an old sound machine that my wife had and switched to that. Our sound machine sounds like the Sleep Sheep except it's not packed into a cute sheep exterior with a velcro strap.
