Hayride, Train ride, & Pumpkins Oh My! Pumpkin Patch ’09

by Jane on October 18, 2009 · 5 comments

pumpkin patchYesterday we took Monkey to his first ever pumpkin patch.  The weather couldn’t have been more perfect!  It finally started to feel like fall (for Houston) and was in the upper 60′s.

Monkey, Tarzan, Monkey’s uncle, and myself took him to this pumpkin patch.  Tarzan had gone all of the time in fall growing up, but my brother and I had never been to a pumpkin patch.

It was the coolest thing ever!

We dressed Monkey in an orange “1st Halloween” onesie, jeans, & an adorable striped hat.  He looked perfect!

Obviously Pumpkin Patch ’09 was more for us adults, but I think Monkey had a decent time.  He was alert, looked around, & of course did not cry at all.  We went on a hayride, train ride, took tons of pictures, ate some BBQ (we are in Texas), and had a smile on our face the whole time.

It’s a funny thing when you have kids.  For me, I want to start so many of our own traditions, going to a pumpkin patch being one of them.  And I think you do things more for yourself (going to a pumpkin patch with a 3-month old) at times, but it’s all in fun!

My brother kept commenting on what a blast the whole day was & he was so right.  It was a great time for us all & there will be many more pumpkin patch adventures in the future!

How fun to be able to start those kinds of memories with the little guy!

That's what I did yesterday!!! I live in upstate NY so it was 32 here..... and we went on a haunted hayride...

It was AWESOME!!! :o) I'm such a child at heart

Upper 60's is fall?? Lol that's spring maybe where I hail from!Glad you had fun!

I was just telling Ben the other day that I can't wait till next October so we can take our little girl to the pumpkin patch. I have never been to one either and come to think of it, neither has Ben. It's a tradition I really can't wait to start. Glad you all had a great time!
