I always thought I’d be the type of girl that would want to have sex all the time when I was pregnant. Well, that’s has not been the case so far (just ask Tarzan). I’m actually the complete opposite. Since we got the BFP, we’ve probably had sex 5 times (I’m at the end of being 11 weeks pregnant). That’s not good.
Finally I was feeling it yesterday and Tarzan couldn’t drop his pants quick enough! Really, he was super excited about it!
There are many factors for my not being in the let’s-have-sex kind of mood:
1. Pregnancy Bloat. How in the world can I want to have sex when pregnant when I feel like I gained 15 pounds overnight? Sorry Tarzan, the sex factor just goes out the window with pregnancy bloat.
2. Will something go wrong? Even though I like to stay on the side of being positive, you can’t help but worry about something bad happening when you have sex when pregnant. I know, I know – It’s okay to have sex when pregnant. Shoot, even my OB said that it was fine. But then there are those few people who’s stories you have heard which resulted in something bad. I just want to play it safe, but I know that worry is blocking my mojo for sure.
3. Pregnancy Fatigue. I know that I should fulfill my wifely duties by giving it up every once and a while, but how can I when I can’t seem to lift my ass off the couch some days? Really, pregnancy fatigue can be that bad for me. Naturally, the only way sex is going to happen is if I’m lying on the couch doing nothing, all while Tarzan is doing the work. Somehow that doesn’t sound so sexy though.
4. Hormones. Sometimes I just don’t feel like it. Whether it’s feeling fat, being tired, or just being in a bad mood, I just don’t feel like having sex a lot anymore. It’s sad, I know. Hopefully my hormones will balance out and these weird moods that I get into at times will become a thing of the past.
So, if you are like me and not having sex when pregnant, don’t worry about it. All we can hope is that when we hit the second trimester things will start to look up and we’ll be begging our husbands to have sex with us.
(Well, I don’t know about your husband, but Tarzan won’t need a beg from him. He’ll be ready to go when I show him my pregnant, swollen boobs.)

I think the loss of my sex drive was the worst thing ever! Sadly, it's lasted all the way through this pregnancy. I hope yours picks up for you!
What was also weird, for me at least was when we'd be trying to fool around, and then the baby would start to kick. It was an instant turn off.
