Prenatal Vitamins

by Jane on January 8, 2009 · 2 comments

prenatal-vitaminsAfter my first appointment with the OB, I was sent home with about 8 samples of prenatal vitamins.  The nurse told me to try them out to see which prenatal vitamins I liked best.

I had a variety of vitamins:  some that I could take with food, some that had to be taken in between meals, some with just one pill, and others with two pills.

Out of the 8 samples of prenatal vitamins that I tried, I liked three different ones.  Some vitamins made me feel so sick.  Some made my stomach hurt.  Some made me go to the bathroom (not necessarily a bad thing!).  I settled on getting the prescription for Prenate DHA prenatal vitamins.

I really like these vitamins.  It’s only 1 pill that I have to take per day (which makes it easy) and I can take it with food (which helps me to remember).  I picked up my first 30-day supply yesterday and these vitamins are expensive!  $63.99 for one month.  Yowza!

What prenatal vitamins are you taking?

That's awesome that your dr. said that flintstones were fine to take. I haven't asked mine about those particular ones, but I have heard this before. It would be awesome for her to tell me that these were fine. I would save so much $$.

I was actually told that i could take flintstones vitamins, dr said they ave everyting the baby needs in them, i can take them at any time during the day and he said they are a lot easier for alot of women to keep down =] (and they are sooooo much cheaper)
