This is what happens when you let your 6-month old play with your laptop

Monkey broke a key on my Mac.Yep, Monkey broke the control key on my Mac.

I admit (& I really hated to admit to Tarzan that he was right) that it wasn’t my brightest moment, but when it brings a smile to my kid’s face, well, let’s just say that I’m clearly a sucker.

Monkey really likes the knee bouncers website, so that’s where we were when the control key came off.  Of course I have learned my lesson & don’t let him touch my Mac anymore.

What a way to learn my lesson, eh?!

Oh no…cute but not right?
My two year old likes to put the phone charger in her mouth while it’s plugged in. NOOOO!!! Extremely dangerous and also it corrodes the battery.

The same thing happened to me with my first son. He got his little fingers on my 6 key when he was 6 months. I never realized before that how important my 6 key really was. Now that I have a new laptop I cherish my 6 key :) and I keep my new baby (who is currently 6 months) away from laptop. Lesson learned :) I think it is a rite of mommy passage.

P.S. My hubby gave me the told you so look too!

Knee Bouncers RULES. Hard lesson to learn about the buttons though!

My mother allowed my niece to play with my laptop when she was around 18 months….. she ripped off my “h” key, which was part of my access password…. bye bye laptop!

What a cute site, definitely book marking it for future reference. Do you know of other sites like this one that you could share? :)

When NHL was young, I got a program that blanked out the screen and would play sound effects and display photos when the baby hit keyboard keys. (It locked out the power button and other items unless you typed in a certain sequence of keys.)

So I let him hit the keys a bit on my laptop…. my *work* laptop. Everything was fine until he pulled a few of the keys off! Luckily, I was able to get them back on just fine. That was the end of his keyboard pounding days, though.

Now, NHL is older and loves using the computer for playing chess and playing on various child oriented websites.

my ~~~~ key just came off the other day- while I was writing an email en español .. how convenient.. I have a gateway laptop, and even though the metal holder bit was bent, the little “nipple” that is the actual button/sensor part was still functioning. I took a little bit of super glue and glued the key right to the little nub part and it works fine, you can’t tell its been fixed looking at it , if you touch the key it works fine- it’s just a little wobbly from the lack of four cornered support …. hope that helps you fix it!
