my ~~~~ key just came off the other day- while I was writing an email en español .. how convenient.. I have a gateway laptop, and even though the metal holder bit was bent, the little "nipple" that is the actual button/sensor part was still functioning. I took a little bit of super glue and glued the key right to the little nub part and it works fine, you can't tell its been fixed looking at it , if you touch the key it works fine- it's just a little wobbly from the lack of four cornered support .... hope that helps you fix it!

When NHL was young, I got a program that blanked out the screen and would play sound effects and display photos when the baby hit keyboard keys. (It locked out the power button and other items unless you typed in a certain sequence of keys.)

So I let him hit the keys a bit on my laptop.... my *work* laptop. Everything was fine until he pulled a few of the keys off! Luckily, I was able to get them back on just fine. That was the end of his keyboard pounding days, though.

Now, NHL is older and loves using the computer for playing chess and playing on various child oriented websites.

The same thing happened to me with my first son. He got his little fingers on my 6 key when he was 6 months. I never realized before that how important my 6 key really was. Now that I have a new laptop I cherish my 6 key :) and I keep my new baby (who is currently 6 months) away from laptop. Lesson learned :) I think it is a rite of mommy passage.

P.S. My hubby gave me the told you so look too!

Oh no...cute but not right?
My two year old likes to put the phone charger in her mouth while it's plugged in. NOOOO!!! Extremely dangerous and also it corrodes the battery.
