Reason #525345213 why I love being a mom

why i love being a momIt was time for Monkey to take his morning nap.  With a bottle in my hand & Monkey in my other arm, we went into his nursery to close the blinds, turned on his music, & turned on the fan.  It was quiet except for the soft music playing & quite peaceful in there too.

We cuddled as I began to rock him and feed him his bottle.  I guess the pears he had earlier filled his tummy because he wasn’t interested in eating his bottle.  He rested his head in the side of my neck & I thought that he was off to sweet dreaming.

But he wasn’t.  He had another thing planned instead.

He pressed his lips to my neck & blew.  You know, to make that noise when lips hit the skin.  (My dad used to do this to my belly when I was little & we always called them “zeeberts”.)

Of course I laughed out loud & he looked at me & started to laugh too.  So much for trying to be quiet & restful, right?

After that he was all played out, turned his head to face the other way, & drifted off to sleep while cuddling with me.  It’s the little things like this that really settle with me & make me realize how much I love my little guy.  He’s growing up so quickly & I just have to cherish all of these funny moments when they come.

Those moments are ones to treasure… We call them raspberries, My little has started giving me kisses it consists of her slobbering all over my face with her hands wrapped around my next one hand pulling my hair and the other hand pinching my neck it hurts so much but i would not hcange it for the world it is so special her showing her love. She actually left a love bite on my neck on saturday night after one of hr sucking on my neck sessions

That is wonderful. In my house we call them raspberries. My little one went through a week long phase where that was all she did was blow raspberries. She would wake up at night blowing raspberries. She would cry, stop, blow a raspberry, and go back to crying. She would blow them at strangers, to friends, to our cats, and even a few to the wall. It was a great week.

I love those moments too. as my 6.5 mo old is getting bigger & older by the minute, I am cherishing these moments since i know they will go fast. I love that huge gummy smile that she gives me even as she is drifting off to sleep…

My son does this all the time. It’s sweet, but I’m usually hoping he’ll fall asleep, so I just roll my eyes knowing it’s gonna be awhile once he does that. But it is really cute.

Oh my goodness! What a moment! I have a 13 day old newborn and I can’t WAIT until we have those kinds of good times. Children are true blessings to our lives.
