Bags packed: Check!

Monkey packed: Check!

Dog packed: Check!

Tomorrow morning we are dropping our dog off at the boarders.  Next we’ll be dropping Monkey off at my parent’s house.  Finally it will just be me & T on a road trip to San Antonio for some much needed “us” time!

To say that I’m excited is quite the understatement. For real.  I’m ready for a break this weekend & to reconnect with my husband on a level that doesn’t involve poopy diapers, a dog whining for milk, & a schedule.

That’s right – No routine this weekend.  We’ll be doing whatever whenever & it’s going to be awesome.

Drinks in the middle of the day while strolling on the riverwalk holding my husband’s hand is so what I (we) need!  And did I mention that I’ll be having a mini-spa day complete with a massage, body wrap, pedicure, & manicure.

Oh yes, it’s going to be great!  I.Can.Not.Wait.

(Boy it sure does take a lot more planning & packing when a baby is involved!)

Fab honey!

A good rule to try – no talk about the baby (or money or anything else stressful) after the first 2 hours per day. A lot harder than you may think!

Have fun!!!!!!! Relax and enjoy!

Enjoy yourself!! I wish I could say we’re going to be doing the same thing in the near future…but BOO we aren’t. I would love a day away from everything!

@Jane2: I think that bachelorette party was a while ago.

CONGRATS on the weekend away Jane! I never get to hold my fiances hand anymore, I miss it. Normally one of us is pushing the stroller so it just doesn’t happen. My little one is 5 months old, I’ve had 2 or 3 nights to myself and they were much needed. Glad to see you are at a point now where you are comfortable leaving monkey with your parents so you can enjoy yourself. Have fun :)

You’re so lucky! Although I am coping well with my hubby and 7 mo. old, we have not tackled any vacations. Have a wonderful time, you two deserve it.

It’s so nice to hear a positive post from you Jane I had been worried that PPD may of been sinking its ungly teeth back into your life. I think that if you have suffered from PPD that it is probably even more important to get away for some adult time with your partner. We are yet to tackle a night away alone yet. I have taken my little girl interstate on my own to visit family when she was 6 weeks old and then when she was 3 months we took a family mini break interstate. I am now at the point where I can think about a date night then possibly a night or weekend away. As my Family is not close by my SIL has offered to look after our monkey for us so we now just need to organise it. Hope you have a good weekend away.

I want an update. How did it go? Did you miss your little man terribly or were you able to relax and reconnect? I dream of a romantic getaway! But my kiddo’s breastfed and I wouldn’t be able to pump enough to get him through a weekend. I’d settle for a date night though! Plus, I don’t really trust his grandparents to handle things for an entire weekend, lol. But for an evening, yes. I need to set that up!

sounds kind of selfish to me…first you quite nursing, now your leaving your kid behind, and of course don’t forget all the “complaining” about how HARD it is to be a mother…you know, so many women would love to have your “problems”….get over it!

You deserve to have a break. Do it more often. So how did it go? Where did you stay in San Antonio?
