Pregnancy making emotions run wild

by Jane on January 11, 2009 · 7 comments

pregnancy-hormones-and-cryingIt’s funny that I’m about to blog about how this pregnancy is making my emotions run wild, considering how my husband made fun of me the other day about this same thing.  But, here goes…

I really like watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition, but I cannot get through one damn episode without tears running out of my eyes.  Tonight was no different.  Tarzan and I were on the couch watching this show and from the very beginning of it until the very end, I was a mess.

A crying pregnant woman that couldn’t stop.

Just in case Tarzan rats me out, I’ll go ahead and admit that I not only cried during the episode of this, but also during some of the commercials, even the Disney World commercial.  There’s just something about that song that gets me.  So lame, right?  I mean, Disney World Jane?

Really?

Pregnancy is a funny thing.  I always bordered on the slightly emotional side before getting knocked up, but it doesn’t even compare to how emotional I am now.  I wonder if it will stay the same or keep on increasing and have me crying at the drop of a hat literally.

Oh I hope that it doesn’t get worse.  I won’t be able to deal with puffy eyes for the next 6 months.

Yes, it's unbelievable how much your hormones can act up during pregnancy. When I had my baby several years ago I would cry whenever I saw a commercial with a baby in it. I feel for you!

In my first trimester some of the advertisements on TV would make me cry!! thankfully things have calmed down a little now in the 2nd trimester!

Thanks..it came to us when we heard them using his name over and over in on of the episodes and my husband and I couldn't pick a boys name. (and we knew he was a boy) So when we heard his name over and over we were like.. TY! :)

@Taylor Blue: Ty is a nice name! How great that you named him after someone that does good for others! Did it just come to you one night when watching the show?

@Renee: I can totally relate to having a box of Kleenex. Good grief, you would think that I knew the people on the show and was somehow attached to them and their situation. I cry from the beginning until the end, but glad to know that it is normal. :)

@Jeanine: Even though I'm pregnant, I'm not into watching any kind of baby shows just yet. I'm pretty sure that will change as I become further along, so I'll try to remember not to tune in to "A Baby Story". And to have a box of tissues close by if I ever do watch it. Thanks for the tip!

I'm the exact same way. I cry over commercials, things my kids do that is cute, I cry over songs, shows and when people say something nice and sweet to me I bubbler like a baby. It's all natural, and I've done it through my whole pregnancy so far, and I believe all my other ones as well...

Don't watch "A Baby Story" because I kid you not even when not pregnant, being a mom, I can't watch without being a crying baby! :)

That show is a complete doozy when you're not pregnant. I try to avoid it as much as possible now that I'm 18 weeks along myself. It just makes you want to take up stock in Kleenex.

I used to cry so much during that show too.. And so much that I named my son Ty after Ty Pennington... LOL
