Thank you for sharing your experiences with the rest of us. My husband and I have been married for less than 1 year and I'm a little more than 11 weeks pregnant. I completely understand what you are going through. I've had every possible pregnancy symptom except for vomiting. Thank God for that! Unfortunately I've had plenty of nausea. Good luck with your pregnancy...I'm right behind you.

I am SO right there with you (I'm also 13 wks). While I haven't been plagued by your migraines (just little annoying headaches here and there), I have been experiencing constant m/s. I have to be so careful what I eat and how often I eat. And water's like the devil. I can't keep it down. I've been constipated and gassy and just feeling like total crapola. I feel like such a slug cuz I simply don't have the energy/motivation to do what needs to be done. It's terrible. I thought this was supposed to be winding down at this point. Anyway, I'm right there with ya, girl.

@Helen - I'm glad you are enjoying our blog! I hope that I start feeling better sooner than 16 weeks, but I'll take what I can get. :) While I couldn't sleep last night, I was actually thinking about feeling the baby inside of me in a few weeks (I guess) and that's really exciting. Can't wait for that! Oh, and glad you found yourself a good husband to make up for all you missed in the past!

@Julie - Thanks for all your honesty and advice. I try not to think about labor just because I know I will get all worked up over something that is inevitable to happen. When my due date is closer, I would love to know about your resources! Interesting that you mentioned acupuncture - I never even thought about that. I've only done that once and it wasn't a good experience, but perhaps I should give it another shot. I'll definitely talk to my ob about that and anything else she recommends.

@Jennessa - I got a boppy pillow, but I don't love it yet. I'm hoping it's only bc my belly isn't big yet. It just seems really big and almost awkward to try to sleep with. I hope it will be a lifesaver in the next upcoming weeks until the baby is born. I'm a girl that loves sleep and needs it!

Oh the headaches. I dont have any pearls of wisdom in this dept, I had them constantly and i never took anything. BUT if they are something that is really bothering you I would talk to your DR. because you need all the rest you can get. Remeber you are growing a little person inside of you and well its exhausting. Before your belly gets any bigger I would invest in a body pillow and more pillows pillows pillows. You need one between your legs and also under your growing belly and perhaps even one to shove behind your back. (or the couch and lots of pillows) I have heard putting a cool cloth on the back of your neck might help releive some of your headache. Oh yeah and remember lots of water I know I know the peeing wont stop but think of it this way, by the time baby is born your body is used to getting up all night long. As for the itching its time to invest in some cocoa butter lotion and maybe some cocoa oil if the itching is really bad you can find those at your local wal mart. Hang in there!

Every pregnancy is different but for most its pretty up and down for about the first 16-20 weeks. In my experience, the 2nd trimester energy surge/ glow didn't start 'till 20 weeks but I did feel sporadically glowy after 14. Hopefully the headaches will stop then too. You could try some acupuncture treatment..
As for the boobs, that's increased blood flow in preparation for breastfeeding, the itchiness is the skin stretching. You'll have that same feeling to look forward to as your belly grows. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news there.
And finally.. a headache is nothing like labor. A headache is just horrid unrelenting pain. For most, labor comes on gradually and you have these wonderful hormones to help you cope with the pain, plus you know your going to have your baby in your arms once it's over and you know it can't last forever. When you are ready to think about the labor let me know and I'll point you and Tarzan in the right direction for some really great resources that will have you totally believing your little engine that could (do you know that story?.. I think I can, I think I can etc..). Once you believe that, it's half the battle won.
Take care of yourself and little bundle. Your likely to be feeling better soon. If not, you could try to find an acupuncturist or a homoeopath that deals with the trials and tribulations of pregnancy for some relief.

What a sweet blog you two have! I'm an "oldie"-- my kids are 19 and 16 now, but my pregnancy days are still pretty clear in the memory bank. How I wish I'd had a loving, wonderful husband like Tarzan when I was having my babies! Unfortunately, I married a bit of an infant the first time around, but my present husband is making up for everything I missed back then.
I sympathize with how rotten you're feeling right now Jane. With my first pregnancy, I had the worst nausea (and vomiting-ugh!) which lasted till I was 16 weeks along. Weirdly- it was like a light went on at 16 weeks and I felt completely well from then on. Here's hoping it happens for you too Jane (but sooner!)
For me, the second trimester really was the best time (after the nausea stopped) I finally FELT and looked pregnant. In a few weeks, you'll start to feel some little baby flutters too.
I look forward to enjoying the rest of your blog!

Babe! What are you doing!? I thought you were resting. I just posted a blog about 5 minutes before you wrote the above. I bet you didn't even know. :)

Anyway, get off your computer and I will be downstairs in a few minutes to put you to bed. Love you.
