This pregnant girl is having a weird food craving for dinner.  Of course I wasn’t even hungry like 5 minutes ago, but now I’m famished.  Let’s talk about what Tarzan is making me for dinner.  It started off as a simple egg sandwich.

Very simple enough, right?

Then I wanted doritos with it.  Zesty taco and chipotle ranch, to be specific.  Then I decided that some green olives would be great on it.  Oh and through in some pimento cheese on the bottom bread please.

Yes, I’m having an egg, doritos, olive, and pimento cheese sandwich.  Yum!  I really hope that it tastes as good going down!  Gotta love pregnancy cravings!

Tarzan is taking pictures between making it for me and I’m so thankful that he is taking care of his pregnant wife.  In fact, I really think he got a huge kick out of making my sandwich.

I can’t believe… oh wait… it’s ready…

I’m back! I had to take a little break to gulp (I mean, eat) my sandwich and it was delicious!  All you other pregnant ladies out there should definitely try it.  So yummy!

Now I’m off to bed.  I had an exhausting day at Kemah and Galveston and I can’t wait to change into my pj’s and go to bed.  Sounds very nice!

Update By Tarzan!

Hey everyone!  Hey Jane, this is our first pregnancy blog post that we’ve done together.  Awwee… how cute, right?  Well, my stomach is still churning a little from making you your sandwich to even think about cuteness!  So here’s how it all went down guys…

As I began to make Jane a normal egg sandwich, I asked her if she wanted cheese on it.  She said no, but then began to rattle off that wonderful menu of items she listed above.  I couldn’t believe that she was serious.  She was, and I knew that this was one of those pregnancy kodak moments that I just had to capture.

As you can see below, we have Doritos, bread, that pimento cheese stuff spread on the bread, 2 eggs, and a jar of olives to the right.

As I was making it, Jane asked me to give her 2 olives cut in half.  (Strange.  I know.)   So I put everything together and started to put the Doritos on the plate and she said, “be sure you put the Doritos in the sandwich!”  At this point I knew that the best thing that I could possible do was to keep my mouth shut.  So, I put the Doritos on her sandwich with everything else as you can see below:

MMMmmm….  and here is my finished creation which I’m now calling…

“The Pregnant Jane Pregnancy Craving Sandwich!”

After I brought Jane’s creation cooked and prepared by yours truly, she said, “Oh no, I wanted the olives inside of the sandwich!”

My stomach couldn’t take it.  I told her I was sorry and just had to walk away for a moment.  The mere thought of mixing olives and eggs just grossed me out!

But you know what?  I’ll make her these sandwiches any day of the week.  I missed my Jane as you read in my previous post today, and it’s good to have her home. :)

Now I’m wondering if I dare to even as this question, but…

What is the weirdest food mix you’ve eaten while pregnant or for the fellow food craving go-to guys, what have you made for your wife or girlfriend that really grossed you out?

Hello,
I was looking up other mommies cravings because I was having a craving for Mexican food. I never eat Mexican food normally, actually can't stand it. And all of a sudden it hit me. Salsa expecially. I also want the pizza lunchables, the ones you make yourself. But I would just like the bread and sauce. Not to extraordinary. But still yummy !

great share, great article, very usefull for me...thank you

pickles and mustard. I was craving BBQ Chicken pizza last week. At the very very beginning, I needed a soft peanut butter cookie and there were NONE at our grocery store, except the kind you make in the oven. Very sad. There was one time, when I made nachos (just cheese and tortilla chips) and was *this close* to putting mustard over it. But I was only like 8 weeks and thought "nah, this is just a dumb craving". I think I'd do it again now if I had the craving again though, and I am just about to finish the first tri.

i think my weirdest craving so far was fish sticks with honey and a frosty with fries.... still sounds pretty good....

10 weeks 4 days today and I have been craving Chicken Noodle soup with Nacho Cheese Doritios to dunk in it!! Yummy!!!! I love this blog!!

I'm 21 weeks pregnant and my weirdest craving has been Spaghetti Bolognaise with Vanilla Ice-cream and Custard on the side... Mmm... was sooooo yummy :D
Boyfriend couldn't sit near me while i ate it, made him sick lol.

the weirdest craving that I had was toffee ice cream and bacon on the side. Still sounds good! (pregnant again, lol)

Tarzan, check the website one more time about breast cancer. It states the rats given more choline benefited... i.e., all rats were given breast cancer. Those which received more choline had SLOW growing tumors, whereas those with no choline had FAST growing tumors.

Jane... eat up!!! I'm also pregnant and craving eggs.

Even being pregnant, that doesn't sound appetizing, but none the less funny! I think the weirdest thing I've craved so far was french bread doughnuts. Just so you know, bakeries do not make those. Not even upon request. I wanted like french bread with chocolate doughnut frosting stuff. My poor boyfriend went out and just came home with a box of doughnuts and a loaf of french bread...WEIRD. I also crave a certain coffee drink from a coffee shack that is 1 1/2 hours away. I don't get those often. :(

Aside from that, pepsi and fast food have been my weaknesses. I never drank soda before I got pregnant, either.

With my boy the strangest combo was salsa mixed with maple syrup and pretzels to dunk in it. Yummy and so good. With my girl I wanted fizzy drinks all the time so I always had carbonated flavored water on hand. And to me that sandwich doesn't sound strange at all my hubby would eat that normally! Lol

It was a while ago, but when I was pregnant with my first child, I drank ALOT of Coke. Embarrassing to admit it now, but I was always thirsty (I lived in a hot climate then) and Coke was the only thing that seemed to quench it. I don't really drink pop anymore though. Don't know why I thought that was a healthy thing to drink back then! (maybe I didn't care- cravings are weird that way)

Yum, my dinner was GREAT last night! :) It's funny because I really don't think that the food was that weird of a combination. Perhaps that's why I'm the pregnant one that ate it. Ha, ha!

Oh and about the Mexican food, Tarzan - You just wait. I'm thinking that Mexican is sounding REAL good for lunch today!

Thanks for all of the comments everyone!

@Mommy in Pink... I highly agree with your first word.

@Shaka... That doesn't sound silly at all. It's my # 1 favorite blog ever, too. Why? Because my wife is the star of the blog! Wait... or are the stars my "boys"? Naaa... It's Jane. :) And speaking of Jane, I'm VERY surprised she is not on a Mexican food diet right now - she loves it... but I don't think our baby is a fan of it yet.

@Mommy... Thank you. That's what I thought and said to Jane. Hmmm... OK. Just spent several minutes searching around online. OK. No more eggs for Jane, cooked or not. Number one reason is this info that I found about how eating eggs while pregnant affects breast cancer in offspring. Link: http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2008-12/foa...

The other info I found talked about the risk of getting Salmonella when eating raw eggs while pregnant. That one I'm not worried about at all. Jane buys the organic wild chicken eggs (not sure if that is the proper term). Before Jane got pregnant, we've eating dozens and dozens of them raw. I know, sounds gross, but we'd put a couple of raw eggs into our protein shakes. I was really freaked out by doing that at first and did a ton of research and talked to a lot of people out it before I dove into the world of raw egg eating.

Anyway, the link I shared was enough for me to start a campaign targeted to Jane: "Just Say No To Eggs."

@Mary Lutz... You nominated us for an award? Well thank you! That was very nice of you. There is ONE thing that I REALLY want right now. BAD. And that's an iPhone. I'm drooling over an iPhone. Slobbering even. An all-out waterfall of saliva! But with Jane being pregnant, the economy, etc., priorities change. So, with all of that said... I hope the grand prize is an iPhone. :)

Hi! I just wanted to let you know I nominated your blog for the Cool and Fabulous double blog award! Go to my blog for all the details!

Mary Lutz’s last blog post..I'm so Honored!!!

Yuck! Hope those eggs were fully cooked (yolks and all). Any uncooked egg is dangerous to pregnant women.

Oh gosh when I was pregnant all I wanted was mexican food I didn't crave anything super weird!

But I wanted to say that this is my most favourite blog that I have ever read, ever! I know it sounds silly but it's true.

shaka’s last blog post..

YUCK! Sorry, but that looks gross! If I was still pregnant though, I'd be all over it! Enjoy!
