His Boys Can Swim

I haven’t blogged in a few days & the reason is because I just don’t have it in me right now.  My mind has been occupied with thoughts of hope & prayers.

At the start of a new year, the last thing on a person’s mind should be health.  Well, in the perfect world that I wish I [click to continue…]

babys first christmasJane, Monkey, and Tarzan wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Jolly end of December!  Christmas time always brings an overwhelming amount of childhood memories rushing through me.  The excitement.  The happiness.  The joy.  Family. Toys.  Fun.  Some of my best memories growing up were this time of year.  And I know Jane and I will do everything we can to create the same magic for Monkey for many years to come.

Although Monkey won’t really understand what’s going on tomorrow as we’re [click to continue…]

We recorded this awhile back (when Jane was 3 1/2 or 4 months pregnant) and since it’s almost Christmas, I figured we’d post the little song we sang here. :)

baby blogsJane received an email from a woman who had asked if there was an easy way to go back and look at our pregnancy and baby blog posts in order.

I thought I’d post the answer here in case there’s anyone else who would like to do the same.

barefoot singalong booksHere’s a giveaway that any child (and parent) will love!  Barefoot Books has generously offered to give away the Barefoot Books Singalong Gift Collection, which is a $100 value!

I just received these books two days ago & to say that I was impressed is quite an understatement.  What caught my attention about the books were so many things.

The books are such a great size & hardback so that your child can’t tear off the cover.  The colors are so vibrant & occupied Monkey’s attention [click to continue…]

jcpenney baby registryWhen I was pregnant I put off registering for my baby until the very last minute (or so it seemed).  I was intimidated by all of the baby stores & all of the baby things that I didn’t even know if I needed or not.  Not to mention I wasn’t even sure what some of these baby products did.

It seemed like baby products were a different language – Travel system, umbrella stroller, convertible car seat, and the list goes on and on.  I didn’t know what the heck any of that stuff was & I had no desire to find out until the very last minute.

One day I was out running errands & my husband called.  He said that he just received an email asking if I would [click to continue…]

Mothers BraceletI love the chance to get a product for free to review for my blog readers, so it was no different when I was contacted by Belly Charms.  I was asked if I would pick a Mother’s Bracelet from her site and then do a review.

Can I just say that I love my blog?!

I realize that I should have been a bit more specific in my request to you last time.

While I’m glad that you decided to make your appearance, it does not please me on how you made your appearance.  I get that it might have been a lot more convenient for you to come in the middle of the [click to continue…]

One flaw in women

One Flaw In Women
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
But they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
And laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don’t take “no” for an answer
When they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
And cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
A birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
Yet they are strong when they
Think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
Can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They’ll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
To show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what
Makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their
Family and friends.
Women have vital things to say
And everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH

Yesterday I was checking my email & I accidentally clicked on a forward that had the below words in it.  Usually I just delete all forwards without even opening them, but I was glad that I had accidentally opened this one.  Perhaps it just comes at a really good time for me in my life, or maybe it’s just uplifting to read about how fabulous women are.  Regardless, I [click to continue…]

Dear Aunt Flow,

Your presence would be nice considering I’ve been feeling cramps for five days now.  I know that I haven’t had my period since last October and while I didn’t miss it when being pregnant, I’m ready to get it over with now.  I hate the anticipation of waiting for you.

It is my wish that you decide to show up sooner than later so that I can move on and not constantly check down there to see if there’s a surprise.  Oh and if you can keep it short, light, and with little to no cramps, I’d really appreciate it tons.

Love,
Jane
