37 weeks pregnant

37 weeks pregnant and reminiscing… Prior to actually being pregnant, there were a few things that I associated with those particular 9 months.  I thought of the pregnancy glow, pregnancy hair, morning sickness, desserts, getting some special attention (not gonna lie), Mexican food (seriously yum), gaining pregnancy weight, pregnancy fatigue, swollen pregnancy feet and hands, stretch marks, big boobs, pregnancy sex, and nesting.

I never got the lovely pregnancy glow that I’ve heard about.  And while a few people have said, “You are just glowing” I know that they are full [click to continue…]

Pregnant Jane is rounding the corner and coming up to the big pregnancy week 38.  I’m more jumpy than I have ever been in my life!   I’m constantly thinking, “here we go – this is it!” many times throughout the day.  For example, the other day Jane said “ouch” after banging her foot or something on the coffee table.  I immediately ran in and asked, “Are you OK?” franticly.

There have been MANY times over the last couple of weeks baby Tarzan kicks pregnant Jane in the ribs or lower stomach while I’m with her.  It’s always followed by her jumping, grabbing her stomach, [click to continue…]

And so the fun begins at 37 weeks pregnant.

I’ve heard how annoying it can be to field calls from family and friends who are constantly asking the same questions, “Are you ok? Any signs of labor yet?”

When people complained about those questions previously, I remember thinking to myself, “At least people care enough about that person to ask and wonder”.

I’ve heard about the Ricki Lake movie “The Business of Being Born” for some time now, but haven’t actually looked into watching it.  The other night as I was scrolling down to see what was on tv I saw that the movie was coming on one of the movie channels so I was happy to get to watch it since I obviously wasn’t being proactive on finding the movie out on my own.

It sort of made me wish that I watched it earlier in my pregnant instead of waiting until I was 37 weeks pregnant.  Oh well, what do you do?

Ahhh, I made it!!  Not only has my third trimester flown by (most of the time), but I’m officially considered “full term” in my pregnancy.  This is a huge deal to me.

There’s something really comforting about knowing that my baby could be born tomorrow and chances are that he would be more than A-OK.

It’s a relief that I’ve done my best to keep him healthy and safe in my ute for 9 months already.  9 months.  Wow.

I can’t wait to meet the little guy!
