first birthday partyWhew.  Who knew planning a first birthday party could consume me this much?!  I actually had the thought of “What will I do once this birthday party is over?” last night.  I’ve been in party planning mode for about 3 months now & it’s cool to see everything finally coming together.

Last night I worked on the centerpieces & I love the way they turned out.  I wrapped three different sized boxes with wrapping paper, bought a little dog that has a “1″ on it to sit on the top of the boxes & balloons will go on the side.  It looks cute & I’m probably not doing it justice by trying to describe it.  (I’ll post pictures of it after the party happens.)

My in-laws are coming in town today & I know that will take away time from setting everything up.  Remember, though my in-laws mean well, they are, um, very needy, which drives me up the wall.

I know that all first birthday parties are more for the parents & I know that Monkey won’t really [click to continue…]

In those first few months Monkey slept like a champ when in his swing, like 3-4 hours.  It was glorious!  I knew that he wouldn’t be able to fit in his swing for too much longer, so I started the transition to his crib about a month ago.

At first it was a complete nightmare, which is shocking considering he’s slept through the night in his crib for about [click to continue…]

babys first christmasJane, Monkey, and Tarzan wish all of you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Jolly end of December!  Christmas time always brings an overwhelming amount of childhood memories rushing through me.  The excitement.  The happiness.  The joy.  Family. Toys.  Fun.  Some of my best memories growing up were this time of year.  And I know Jane and I will do everything we can to create the same magic for Monkey for many years to come.

Although Monkey won’t really understand what’s going on tomorrow as we’re [click to continue…]

christmas traditionsI’m a big sucker for traditions, especially creating my own traditions with my little family.

Christmas is my favorite time of the year.  Yep, I’ll admit it, I love me some presents, but this season is so much more than presents.  I think I love giving presents to loved ones more than receiving (well, it’s a close tie).

I love what the season means.  I love that people have [click to continue…]

baby toys 2009These past few weeks I’ve been a shopping fool picking up new baby toys for Monkey.  So what that Monkey will only be 6 months at Christmas…  He’ll have a lot of presents to open… well, make that a lot of presents that Tarzan and I will be opening for him.  :)  It’s his first Christmas & I want to make it memorable, if nothing else but to put a smile on my face (& Tarzan’s too)!

I know that Monkey won’t be able to open his presents, but I’m excited about the endless [click to continue…]

daddys design snoogie seat monkeyWith the birth of our little baby Monkey, we got way behind on some of the great products we received that needed to be reviewed – as I’ve mentioned a few times now to keep reminding myself.  LOL!  Now that things are calming down a little around here, Jane is back posting on our pregnancy and baby blog here, and will be getting back to Twittering.

There are several reviews we need to do – and some will include contests where you can win the item we’re reviewing or posting about!

The item that I wanted to tell you about today is [click to continue…]

Cloud B Sleep Sheep For BabiesNeed some sleep? The Cloud B Sleep Sheep (featuring four soothing sounds from nature) is one of our favorite baby items thus far.  Why?  Well, a few nights ago Mommy Jane and I were going crazy trying to figure out a way to help relax Monkey and get him to fall asleep.  It was around 2 or 3 in the morning and we were going crazy trying to figure out what to do.

We were exhausted. All we wanted was just a couple hours of sleep and neither Jane nor I had any idea how many hours we had been up in a row.  Monkey was really active and maybe even a little cranky.

We were desperate and trying everything we could think of to [click to continue…]
