Last Thursday and Friday nights Monkey and I spent the night at my parent’s house. The painters came over on Thursday to paint Monkey’s new nursery (my old office) and I didn’t want the paint smell to bother him. Tarzan stayed at home with our little dog so that he could get some work done and have some uninterrupted sleep.
Thursday night my parents, Monkey, and I were in the living room and my dad asked about that first psychiatrist appointment for my postpartum depression. Before I continue with the story, you should know that I have never been super close with my dad in the sense that I share things like psychiatrists appointment and postpartum depression [click to continue…]
Yesterday was the day I was dreading, but I was also hopeful at the same time. It was the meeting of a psychiatrist to help with my postpartum depression and I really had mixed emotions.
On one hand I knew that I had to get help so that I could be a better mom to little Monkey, a better wife to my husband, and be able to get through the day without beating myself up, which I’ve gotten pretty good at lately.
But on the other hand, a way more selfish hand, [click to continue…]
Yes, we’ve come full circle here. It seems like years ago when Jane was 16 weeks pregnant and I was writing about her crazy hormones and lack of sex. Back then, I never thought too much about what life would be like after Monkey was born as far as sex was concerned.
I mean, what’s the deal? The last time we were at Jane’s doctor’s office we asked what are some things we can do to induce labor naturally at home and she told us to have lots of sex. I don’t know about you, but any doctor telling Jane and I to have lots of sex just secured me [click to continue…]

Here I am in my pink Hot Mama gown!
Finally, I found time to blog about my full labor and delivery story! It all started after a night trying to induce labor that was full of sex, sitting on the birthing ball, and eating pizza with pepperoni and pineapple.
Later that night, Tarzan and I fell asleep on the couch and love seat in the living room.
At 2 am I woke up to go to the bathroom and there was nothing unusual about that. I woke up again at 4 am to find my panties soaked and a circle of wetness that leaked onto the shorts I was wearing.
Hmm… Could this have meant that my water broke? I wasn’t sure.
I first noticed that it was a clear liquid, so no green there. (Yay!) I took a whiff to see if it smelled like urine and it didn’t. There was actually no smell to it. At this point, I was thinking that all signs were leading to the fact that my water [click to continue…]
Are you ready for my LONGEST blog post to date? Grab a cup of coffee and let’s get you all caught up on everything we’ve had going on!
Since we got home from the hospital, I feel like we’ve been in a tornado. We’re busier than we’ve ever been and the days are all running together. Our son, Baby Tarzan, is doing GREAT. Jane is also doing great, but very, very tired as you can imagine.
Now before I go into my little “being a Daddy” piece today, I wanted to update you guys on a lot of different things based on questions that have come in from our blog here and on Twitter that people like you [click to continue…]
Pregnancy Weight: Um, I need to start paying attention to this better. Not sure what the number was. Maybe up 1 or 2 pounds? I’ll keep a better lookout at my next appointment.
Blood Pressure: 98/56
The nurse said that my blood pressure was “great”. I don’t know much about blood pressure, but I do know that the “normal” is 120/80. I also know that my blood pressure is not high, clearly, but it [click to continue…]
The nurse called me back about an hour after I left a message for her. She asked me all of the important questions like if there was any cramping, bleeding, extra discharge, contractions, and/or pain. I told her that there was none of those symptoms, but an uncomfortable feeling in my lower pelvic region.
She asked if I had felt the babe move and I told her that I had. She said for me to start paying attention to his kicks, flutters, etc after breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She also told me that my OB is on call this weekend, so if any of the above symptoms happen I need to call immediately.
She said that it could just be the [click to continue…]
Happy 24 weeks pregnant to me today!
I guess today marks V-day for me, which stands for viability day. This basically means that my fetus would most likely be able to survive with or without medical help outside of my uterus.
I’ve heard this is a big day, but I’m not celebrating just yet. I want my baby to stay comfortable in my uterus until the very end and then I’ll start celebrating.
(You hear that little man: Stay [click to continue…]
