Last November 17th, I could be found in my bathroom bawling my eyes out. I remember it all perfectly: I had a feeling that I was pregnant, but I was making deals with God to let it not be true. My husband was out, at Barnes & Noble I think, and I decided that it was time to face my fears.
I went into my bathroom with a pregnancy test. I was nervous as hell & prayed that the infamous plus sign would not show up. As soon as I was finished peeing on the stick I saw the plus sign.
I was pregnant.

37 weeks pregnant and reminiscing… Prior to actually being pregnant, there were a few things that I associated with those particular 9 months. I thought of the pregnancy glow, pregnancy hair, morning sickness, desserts, getting some special attention (not gonna lie), Mexican food (seriously yum), gaining pregnancy weight, pregnancy fatigue, swollen pregnancy feet and hands, stretch marks, big boobs, pregnancy sex, and nesting.
I never got the lovely pregnancy glow that I’ve heard about. And while a few people have said, “You are just glowing” I know that they are full [click to continue…]
Thank God this pregnancy blog is anonymous… that’s all I have to say.
Today I mustered up the energy to try to find curtains for the nursery. I went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to look around. I couldn’t make up my mind so I bought 3 different ones to bring home to see what Tarzan thought about them.
Oh but this story isn’t about curtains, I’m just setting it up so that you understand I was out running errands.
Basically it’s like a [click to continue…]
I have no idea what’s going on with my body when I eat green grapes. I LOVE green grapes, but am starting to think that they don’t really, um, agree with my since being pregnant.
I noticed this early on, but I thought it was because of morning sickness or because I ate the grapes in the middle of the night when I couldn’t sleep. Apparently that was not the case.
Before today, the last time I ate green grapes was about 3 weeks ago.
Just a warning, here’s where the TMI might start…
So I ate said grapes and [click to continue…]
Today I’ve just been thinking how I don’t mind being pregnant as much as I did when I was having migraines, morning sickness, and fatigue to the point where I didn’t want to get off the couch. This is definitely my favorite part of pregnancy so far… and I do hope that it will only continue to get better in the next few weeks.
I agree with the people who told me that the second trimester was the best part because it truly has been. It’s sort of getting a bit awkward since my belly is getting bigger, but that’s really the only “negative” thing and it’s not really negative at all.
I love, love, love having a more defined bump. I welcome my belly to keep on growing! I just wish that it wasn’t so awkward when I try to sleep, but that, I can deal with.
So I’m just curious, what is your favorite part of pregnancy thus far? Or if you are a reader who already has had your baby, what did you like most about being pregnant?
Jane is now 21 weeks pregnant and over the last few days she’s been getting those “flutters” in her pregnant belly everyone has told her about. She was starting to get jealous of others feeling their baby kick at 18 weeks pregnant, and some even earlier! But pregnancy week 21 has brought many baby kicks and flutters!
Also, baby Tarzan is about the size of a beer bottle according to my handy Baby Size Guide For Father’s-To-Be.
In fact, this morning Pregnant Jane told me that when she went to bed last night baby Tarzan was kicking a lot – the most EVER! She wanted to see if she could feel it when she put her hand on his belly so she could yell up to me [click to continue…]
So I know you’re probably wondering about the strange title. While it is weird, being 18 weeks pregnant has brought on some fabulous things about pregnancy and a, uh, strange one that no one ever told me about. Let’s get to the strange one first…
Dampness. In-my-panties.
For real. I wish I was kidding, but what is going on down there? Why are my panties damp all the time? Well, not all the time, but more often than not. It’s strange and a new pregnancy symptom. I did some research and it seems like vaginal discharge (sorry guys) is quite normal during pregnancy.
Oh, is it?
Well I wish someone would have [click to continue…]
Time is going by so fast – our baby will be here before we know it! Jane is 17 weeks pregnant today and her belly is getting more and more defined. And according to some old wives tales, we’re going to have a baby girl.
Although according to how Jane’s pregnant belly looks, some say we’re going to have a boy.
Jane thinks we’re going to have a girl; she says that she’s stealing all of her beauty! I don’t think so – I think she’s getting more and more beautiful!
As for me, I’ve been going back and forth. Some days I think our baby is a boy, some days I’m thinking a girl.
BEST of all, for the past week Jane hasn’t had any nausea or morning sickness! So going into pregnancy week 17, all is well. The second trimester is rolling along pretty well the past week.
What do you think? Will we be having a boy or a girl? We’ll be finding out on Wednesday and will of course let you know!
I’m not liking this new trend we’re on. When the clock hit midnight on the day Jane turned 14 week pregnant, she threw up like crazy. And now today, Jane hit the Sweet 16 weeks of pregnancy, and she rang it in by throwing up several times.
She didn’t throw up once up until she hit 14 weeks pregnant, but since that day – she’s had some VERY rough days and early mornings.
Jane started to get a really bad headache yesterday and during the night it turned into a migraine. The pain in her head was so bad it caused the nausea which in turn caused her to throw up. I was hoping that Jane’s Sweet 16 weeks of being pregnant was going to be a smooth [click to continue…]
Being pregnant definitely has its ups and downs. Sure, the final result of popping out a baby out of your vag. is fantastic and totally worth any hell that you might experience throughout pregnancy, but pregnancy sure has its moments.
I was feeling pretty good today and decided that I just had to have a chicken salad sandwich with tomato basil soup. It was a necessity, I tell you.
Of course I went and picked it up (remember, I don’t cook) and scarfed it down like it was going to be the last time I ate. It was delicious going down at first, but then there was a point where I had to put down the croissant and regroup. My stomach was telling me no more and it was tasting BAD. I threw it [click to continue…]
