When I was pregnant I put off registering for my baby until the very last minute (or so it seemed). I was intimidated by all of the baby stores & all of the baby things that I didn’t even know if I needed or not. Not to mention I wasn’t even sure what some of these baby products did.
It seemed like baby products were a different language – Travel system, umbrella stroller, convertible car seat, and the list goes on and on. I didn’t know what the heck any of that stuff was & I had no desire to find out until the very last minute.
One day I was out running errands & my husband called. He said that he just received an email asking if I would [click to continue…]
Happy Halloween everyone! So here it is. Halloween night. While the ghosts and witches roamed the streets going house to house asking for candy, Jane and I were out and about at a Halloween Party. A few jello shots later, we found ourselves home… doing the married couple dance.
Jane forgot to take her pill exactly one year ago today. And because of that little slip, we created a little Monkey.

Your presence would be nice considering I’ve been feeling cramps for five days now. I know that I haven’t had my period since last October and while I didn’t miss it when being pregnant, I’m ready to get it over with now. I hate the anticipation of waiting for you.
It is my wish that you decide to show up sooner than later so that I can move on and not constantly check down there to see if there’s a surprise. Oh and if you can keep it short, light, and with little to no cramps, I’d really appreciate it tons.
Love,
Jane
Three weeks postpartum and time to think about what I’ve learned so far. I really can’t believe that three weeks ago today I had our little Monkey. When you factor in the sleep deprivation, it seems like forever ago, but it’s only been three weeks and time really does fly by when you have a baby!
When I was pregnant I tried to read up on a few baby books, but honestly, none of them really held my interest. I look at motherhood at a trial and error kind of thing and something that you have to experience for yourself in order to know what to do. All babies are different and all parents are different, so what worked for one family might not have worked for us. I tried to enjoy being pregnant, but I will admit that I was beyond anxious to get this show on the road and come home with a baby.
Oh, if only I knew just how different life would [click to continue…]
Before we get talking about breastfeeding, I just want to say that I’ve never had painful nipples in my life. Well, unless you count that time that I had a sneaking suspicion that I was pregnant. Both boobs hurt and Tarzan needed to stay ten feet away from the nips too. Talk about pain.
See, I’ve never really had too much sensitivity in my boobs at all. I always thought this was pretty damn irritating, you know, when trying to get in the mood.
I might add that Tarzan is a boob man, so this was an interference for him as well. He could literally pull them, bite them, and move them all around and I [click to continue…]

You’d think we’d be crazy to go to an Aerosmith concert while Jane is 39 weeks pregnant, right? Well, maybe we are a little. But hey, we’re trying to squeeze in last minute things we can do before Baby Tarzan comes into this world.
Over the last week or so, we’ve gone to see Phantom of the Opera, Jane’s been to 2 movies, and then last night we went out to dinner and to the concert. We’re squeezing in as much as we can before the BIG day! Jane even mentioned she wanted to go bowling today! WHAT!? [click to continue…]
Jane is officially 39 weeks pregnant today and over the last few weeks I’ve learned some new pregnancy terms that I would have much preferred never hearing or learning. Seriously, a bloody show? A mucus plug? And how about that shocking lightning crotch?
Maybe it’s just my weak stomach when it comes to these things, but my vote is that these terms GOTTA GO! What was someone thinking when they thought up the pregnancy terms: “bloody show” or “mucus plug” or “lightning crotch”? I have a feeling that some sick and mean father-to-be invented these signs of labor and pregnancy terms!
So today, I’m officially going to change the names of these terms to be a little easier on my stomach. And who knows, maybe [click to continue…]
With Jane at the tail end of the third trimester and a few days into pregnancy week 38, she’s as calm as can be with each passing day somehow. She’s laying on the couch doing kick counts, and I’m just trying to concentrate on work… or anything for that matter.
Concentrating on anything is becoming quite a task. I swear, I’m beginning to lose my mind here! I mean… [click to continue…]

Pregnancy week by week 38
Jane is 38 weeks pregnant. And yes… OK, OK, OK, so I got a little behind adding Jane’s pregnant belly pictures on our pregnancy week by week page. But the good news is that I added the pregnancy weeks 36, 37, and 38 pictures to the page linked above. Doing so made made me realize how CLOSE we are to the end of this journey. Sure, it’s hit me many times over the last few weeks – but lately, it’s been hitting me BIG TIME.
I just spent a few minutes looking at all of Jane’s pregnancy week by week pictures – minus week 22, darn it! And I couldn’t help remember when many of these photos were taken. As I mention [click to continue…]
