pregnancy-37-weeks-baby-size1Pregnancy Week 37 to the big day:
Your baby is the size of the electric motor
in the $110,000 2008 Tesla which can
go from 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds.  Sweet.

That’s right fellow soon-to-be fathers.  By the time your baby is born he or she is the size of the electric motor in the $110,000 2008 Tesla.  Don’t think you could be driving one of these?  You could have had one… maybe even two.

A Warning For Soon To Be Fathers:
A Bouncing Baby Could Create Some
Bouncing Checks If You’re Note Careful!

If you and your wife earn at least $50,000 a year combined, you’re going to spend roughly $184,320 to raise your child from birth to the age of 17.

If you and your wife earn at least $70,000 a year combined, you’re going to be shelling out a whopping $269,500.

And if that doesn’t make you swallow a little hard, this one will… Those statistics are from a U.S. Department of Agriculture study from 2004.  So you might as well add several tens of thousands of dollars to those numbers above since that data is 5 years old.

My advice: Take a look again at pregnancy week 21.  A few of those makes the above a little easier to swallow… at least for a few hours anyway!

pregnant-belly-picture1You’re growing fast, little one.  You’ll be 13 weeks old tomorrow and I’ll be taking a picture of your mommy’s belly so we can keep track of how fast you (and your mommy’s tummy) are growing.

I learned today that your taste and smell will be further developing this week and that you’ll start to grow little hairs.  If you’re my son, then you’ll be happy to know that back hair doesn’t run in my family, so you’ll be good there.  If you’re my daughter, then, well, uhh [click to continue…]

Pregnancy gas is one of those inevitable things a couple has to deal with during pregnancy.  I guess you can say that it’s one of the few things that a expecting parents go through that really stinks! Now I hope that Jane doesn’t mind me sharing some of our pregnancy gas stories with the world today.

After all, pregnancy gas is natural, it happens to most pregnant women, and fellow soon-to-be fathers will be able to relate to me here.  So here’s the deal… [click to continue…]

12-weeks-pregnant-food-shoppingPregnant Jane just ran to the grocery store after we spent a good 15 minutes trying to figure out what we need.  She’s only 12 weeks pregnant and already I have a good idea of what life will be like for the rest of her pregnancy when it comes to food…

A nightmare!

Over the last week, Pregnant Jane’s food cravings [click to continue…]

12-weeks-pregnant-cornWe weren’t sure what to have for dinner tonight, so we ended up throwing some random things together.  I bought some frozen corn on the cob last week and we pulled that out and added it to our dinner menu.

Um, it was delish!  Eating corn on the cob when pregnant is like the best thing I could put in my mouth.  Yum.

So much so that I ate 3 (they were only halves) of them.  I probably could have gobbled up more, but they were gone.  You can bet I’ll be buying a lot more at the grocery store tomorrow!

12-weeks-pregnant-babySo Jane is 12 weeks pregnant and we’ve of course told our immediate friends and family, but when do we tell all of our other friends that Jane is 12 weeks pregnant?  Or do we wait until 13 weeks?  Or 14 weeks pregnant?

Jane and I have talked about it a little bit and she said we should wait until the second trimester – which I just learned that the second trimester starts when you’re 13 weeks pregnant!

I finally know.

If you’ve been reading my previous blog posts, you’ll see that I was confused as to when the first trimester ends and when the second trimester starts.  Whew!  Glad I finally have that one figured out.

So I guess we’ll be officially making Jane’s pregnancy public in about 7 days or so.  I’m not sure how we’re going to do it.  Far too many people [click to continue…]

Pregnancy Week 12

There isn’t a whole lot of change with pregnancy week 12 and pregnancy week 11 photos.  Her belly is about the same.  But even though there isn’t a whole lot of change in belly size, I can see a lot [click to continue…]

pregnant-porn-star-boobsI’ve always been the kind of girl that has had generous sized boobs, but it seems that being 12 weeks pregnant has really made them grow.  My pregnant boobs are ginormous, I tell you!

Along with looking like I could fit perfectly in a porn with these suckers, they are tender, which is good not.  Any pregnant women knows what I’m talking about.  Our boobs are tender and sore to the touch.  Sleeping even presents a bit of a problem due to the boobies.  It’s absolutely crazy!

The other one that is suffering is Tarzan.  You know, Tarzan is a boob man.  Boobs (mine only) are his thing, so you can only imagine how he wants to grab them.  (Side Note: The picture you see here is not me, but the best I could find to get my point across. :) )

Of course Tarzan knows better than reach out and grab them…  and he doesn’t test me.  It makes me laugh thinking of what torture it must be for him (must be the pregnancy hormones because I’m really a nice girl).

No sex [click to continue…]

12-weeks-pregnant-plumI’m 12 weeks pregnant today and my baby is the size of a plum!  How exciting!

As each week goes by, I find myself really looking forward to getting these emails that tell me what’s going on with the baby and with myself as well.  I’m also really excited to be entering the second trimester soon (just 1 week and 3 days)!

Here’s what is going on with the plum this week:

- The hair that will provide the warmth for the baby’s body is starting to form all around the body.
- The baby is starting to urinate and is able to absorb sugar now.
- The baby has started to [click to continue…]
